SUBJECT:
PUBLIC HEARING - Consideration and Action regarding an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2002-04, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Saginaw, Texas; amending the Permitted Use Table, Section 5-1, to provide that Wineries are permitted by Special Use Permit in Community Commercial, Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial Districts; amending Section 12-2, to provide a Definition for Winery (Ordinance No. 2021-11)
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The City has received an inquiry about a possible winery seeking permit. The Zoning Ordinance doesn’t currently have a “Winery” use listed in the Permitted Use table nor does it have a definition for the use.
Staff has prepared a draft ordinance to allow the winery use in the Community Commercial (CC), Light Industrial (LI) and Heavy Industrial (HI) with a Special Use Permit (SUP).
