SUBJECT: Consideration and Action on Proposal from Network Cabling Services to Upgrade A/V Equipment in the City Council Chambers
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: The audio/visual system in the City Council chambers has had reliability and performance issues for several years include failed controllers, random disconnections, microphone outages and an inoperable voting system. We have been working with Network Cabling Systems (NCS) to evaluate the current system and recommend system upgrades. The attached proposal outlines the recommended improvements and includes a new, easy to use electronic voting system. NCS is a vendor for the state purchasing cooperative Buy Board of which we are a member. They have also been working closely with Chief Spears on the design of the cabling and A/V systems for the new fire station
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total cost will be $54,855.20. Funds are available in this year's General Fund budget through cost savings and increased sales tax revenue.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the agreement. |
