Action regarding Recommendation for Purchase of Seasonal Christmas Lights and Features for Citywide Decorations
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Each year, the Keep Saginaw Beautiful Committee (KSB) decorates the municipal buildings with lights as well as wreaths and trees. A few years ago, the Keep Saginaw Beautiful Committee collaborated with the Parks Advisory Board to purchase Christmas Light Displays to be displayed in City parks. Last year, KSB did not purchase additional lights due to the Pandemic. This year, they have again collaborated with the Parks Advisory Board to purchase Christmas Displays. The Parks Advisory Board is paying half and KSB is paying for the other half. The Parks Advisory Board has already brought this item to you to consider and it was approved.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact will be up to $30,000. Residents, via their monthly water bill, will fund this project from the Keep Saginaw Beautiful voluntary $1.00 donation.
