SUBJECT:
Action regarding Ratification of a Settlement Agreement and Release associated with the matter of Brandon Cruz v. City of Saginaw/ JLB Contracting, LLC, et al.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The City of Saginaw, JLB Contracting and others were named in a lawsuit involving an automobile accident that occurred on June, 29, 2017 while plaintiff was driving his vehicle in the 300 block of E. Bailey Boswell Road. The City was an additional insured under the contractor's insurance and was defended by the attorney's for the contractor's insurance carrier. The lawsuit has been settled at no cost to the City. To complete the settlement, a Settlement Agreement and Release was prepared as a comprehensive release and dismissal of all claims of all parties against other parties.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None to the City of Saginaw.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends ratifying the settlement agreement and release. |
