The structure located at 345 N. Saginaw Blvd. (a vacant building formerly used as a laundromat) has been voluntarily released for demolition by the property owner. Because the structure contains asbestos, a qualified asbestos abatement contractor must remove this hazardous material before demolishing the structure. 

Staff recommends award of the contract to ATMS in the amount of $14,305 for asbestos abatement and removal. This contractor was the lowest bidder and was recommended by a state-mandated asbestos abatement consultant. After the asbestos is removed, bids will be received for demolition of the structure.
