With coordination and assistance from our fire station project architects, BRW,  a long and thorough process of vendor and manufacturer selection and finalizing of a furniture package was completed in December. Steelcase was chosen as the furniture manufacturer offering the best quality for price ratio. Variety at multiple quality and pricing levels as well  product availability were weighted considerations with our finalized selections meeting scheduling projections and more importantly, allowing us to stay within our Council approved budget. 

Pricing package includes furniture for the main entry lobby, five administrative offices, a fifty capacity training room, a six position Emergency Operations Center (EOC), an administrative conference room, a break room serving the admin offices, the EOC and training room, chairs for the two company officer desks and the nine firefighter dorms. 

Multiple pieces of existing fire station furniture will be relocated to the new fire station including office furniture for the Lieutenant and Battalion Chief offices, the living quarters day room and the instructors desk for the training room. Filing cabinets and storage and organizational components will also be relocated for reuse. Some existing fire station one furniture pieces will be relocated to fire station two for reuse where there are furniture pieces that are in need of replacement. Reuse maximizes usefulness and has helped us remain within budget for furniture.
