BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
For the last several years the Park and Recreation Advisory Board has voted to recommend that the City Council authorize a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. Funding for the display is paid through the Parks Budget. The proposed fireworks display vendor for the 2022 celebration is is Pyro Shows of Texas, Inc. (Pyro) who was used for the 2021 celebration.
Pyro proposes to provide the display for a total cost of $17,250.00. In order to secure the proposed date of Saturday, July 2, 2022, it is necessary to pay an $8,625.00 deposit and execute a Contract Agreement before February 5, 2022.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Financial Impact is $8,625.00. Funds are available in the Parks Donation Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize an $8625.00 deposit to Pyro Shows of Texas, Inc. for the 2022 4th of July fireworks display to be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
