BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On May 27, 2021, a Public Service Employee was involved in an accident on Saginaw Boulevard. The vehicle he was driving was a 2018 Chevrolet 1500 pickup. A claim was submitted to TML, the City’s insurance carrier, and the truck was totaled. The City received $27,750.00 for the truck.
Competitive bids were solicited from three vendors for a truck of comparable value as a replacement. James Wood Motors, Inc. submitted the lowest bid for both vehicles.
The trucks were competitively bid. James Wood Motors, Inc. submitted the lowest bid for a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado pickup in the amount of $26,975.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total financial impact will be $26,975.00. Funds are available in the Insurance Fund (Account 21-4900-4300)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck for the Public Services Department in the amount of $26,959.00 from James Wood Motors, Inc.
