Action regarding Resolution No. 2022-01, Calling for a General Election to elect the Offices of City Council Place 1, City Council Place 3, and City Council Place 5 to be held on May 7, 2022--Janice England, City Secretary
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Resolution No. 2022-01 calls the General Election to elect the Offices of City Council Place 1, City Council Place 3, and City Council Place 5 to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Those places are currently held by Charles Beasley (Place 1), Valerie Junkersfeld (Place 3), and Cindy Bighorse (Place 5). All positions have three year terms. The deadline for candidate applications is Friday, February 18, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (Note: City Hall will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on February 18th only to accept candidate applications. No other business will be handled during these hours.) The proposed resolution has been reviewed by the City Attorney.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
N/A The purpose of this item is simply to call the election.
