BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On August 25, 2020 the City, Through Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA) submitted an application to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the Fiscal Year 2021 Green Ribbon Landscape Funds. The Green Ribbon program allows City government to apply for State and Federal funds for landscaping along highway corridors with participation by the Local Government. The scope of the project will include landscaping in identified areas along the east right-of-way of Saginaw Boulevard (Bus.-287) from Minton Road to the northern City Limits.
On November 19, 2021 the City was notified by TxDOT that the application was approved.
On January 18, 2022, the City Council authorized an Individual Project Order (IPO) with KHA for the design of the project for a total fee of $58,000. The fee will be the City’s Local Government share of the project in the AFA shown in ATTACHMENT B Project Budget.
