BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The Wastewater Capital Improvement Program identified the Fairmount 12-inch Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation for design and construction.
On December 5, 2017, City Council authorized an Individual Project Order (IPO) with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA) for the Fairmount Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Phase 1. The project consisted of the rehabilitation of approximately 800 LF of 12-inch sanitary sewer line from approximately Southern Blvd. to Fairmount Ave. The project was awarded on September 3, 2019 and construction is complete.
The proposed IPO will prepare plans and contract documents for the installation of approximately 2,950 feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer from Fairmount Street eastward to an existing 12-inch sanitary sewer east of Sansom Boulevard. Easement documents will be prepared for acquisition by the City. It is anticipated that a BNSF Railroad permit will be required for a bore under BNSF Railroad’s tracks.
