BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The proposed agreement to provide professional services is with Rick Trice (recently retired). Per the agreement, he will provide support and guidance to City Staff, as needed, for ongoing project management, engineering, CIP administration and other work specifically defined by the City Manager and Public Works Director. The term of the agreement is three months with automatic renewal, in three-month increments, with cancellation by either party upon thirty-day notice.
The following is a list of projects that Rick has extensive knowledge about. It would really be an asset to have him to help close these projects out.
- Beltmill
- The Square (sewer tie in, lighting & Signal)
- Victory Shops
- Hardwick
- Industrial Blvd. & Blue Mound Road Reconstruction (joint project with TxDot, Fuel City & County)
- N. Knowles Phase 1
- Northwest Booster Pump Station
- Beltmill Pump Station
- Phase 2 Green Ribbon Project
- Expansion of Food Truck Park
- Falcon Distribution Center
- N. Old Decatur Road Reconstruct
- Wagley Robertson Road ( reconstruct & traffic signal)
- East Cement Creek Drainage Project
In addition to these, Rick’s knowledge in working with TxDot, Oncor and Atmos to get projects pushed through is priceless. He has gotten many projects going that seemed to be at a standstill, just by knowing the right person to contact within the various franchises. So by retaining Rick on a contract basis for a few months until we get some of the projects he started closed out brings great value to the city. We won’t have to rely on Kimley Horn as much, by having Rick on staff.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact will be the monthly fee of $9,400.
RECOMMENDATION:
