| | | | | | | | SUBJECT: Consideration and Action regarding a Development Agreement with NextMetro Communities regarding Architectural Standards for Exterior Masonry and Neighborhood Setback Requirements, on land described as approximately 16.430 acres of land, and described as H. Robertson Survey, Abstract No. 1798, City of Saginaw, Tarrant County, Texas being part of a tract conveyed to Blue Mound Partners, L.P., by deed recorded in Document No. D204343302 of the Official Public Records, Tarrant County, Texas located north of Bailey Boswell Road and west of F.M.-156.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The proposed Development Agreement is associated with the Avilla Saginaw development by NextMetro Communities. The Planning and Zoning Commission considered this request at its March 8, 2022 meeting and recommended approval to the City Council by a vote of 3-1. The approval was subject to relocation of a dumpster location from the west side of the Development Plan to the east side of the development further away from the Creek Wood Subdivision.
On March 15, 2022 this item was brought forth on the regular agenda to the City Council and it was denied. Since this meeting, the Developer has held two public meetings regarding this request and has made some changes to the proposed development agreement. Those changes consist of designing and constructing gateway signage; granting the City a non-exclusive easement for gateway signage maintenance; designing and installing a nature trail connecting existing sidewalks along Bailey Boswell Road; across the subject property, to existing parks and trails to the north of the subject property; and will contribute $10,000 towards to the improvement of existing city sidewalks and infrastructure.
There will be representatives from NextMetro Communities present at the meeting to address any questions concerning the development.
