SUBJECT:
Approval of an Interlocal Agreement with Tarrant County Emergency Services District #1 to receive grant funding to purchase personal protective equipment for the fire department. The personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as bunker gear, consist of firefighting coat and pant ensembles, firefighting boots, helmets, gloves, etc. The grant amount is $29,985.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Tarrant County has facilitated county American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to Tarrant County Emergency Services District #1 (TCESD1). Departments who contract with TCESD1 to provide fire and EMS services to the unincorporated areas of Tarrant County are eligible for the ARPA funding through an Interlocal Agreement grant. Our department has applied and for a grant and for the maximum eligible amount. Approval of the proposed Interlocal Agreement will permit our department to expend the TCESD1 approved expenditure(s) which will be followed by submission for reimbursement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Positive gain of $29,985 in fire service protective equipment. Nil impact to the city budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
