BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On June 10, 2019, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board held a special called meeting. The agenda included an item to discuss the selection of Christmas decorations to be used to supplement and enhance the City of Saginaw’s annual Christmas light displays.
The city’s Beautification Committee is committing up to $15,000 in matching funds toward the purchase of the Christmas light displays. The board considered four choices and decided to recommend $25,000 for the purchase of one “Gingerbread House”, “Santa Roping a Reindeer” and “Group of Four Self-standing LED Trees”.
The cost summary is as follows:
“Gingerbread House” $ 23,200.00
“Santa Roping a Reindeer” $ 6,700.00
“Group of Four Self-standing LED Trees” $ 9,692.24
Total $39,592.24
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total financial impact will be $39,592.24. Funding in the amount of $24,592.24 will come from the Park Donation Fund which has an available fund balance of $94,078.61. Funding in the amount of $15,000 will come from the Beautification Donation Fund which has an available fund balance of $72,805.65.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of one “Gingerbread House”, “Santa Roping a Reindeer” and “Group of Four Self-standing LED Trees in the amount of $39,592.24 from Arnett Marketing utilizing the BuyBoard Contract.
