SUBJECT:
Action regarding Interlocal Agreement with the cities of Burleson, Decatur, Haltom City, Haslet, Keller, Richland Hills, Roanoke, Watauga, the Benbrook Library District, and the Forest Hill Library District for reciprocal lending of library materials.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
This Interlocal Agreement makes the Saginaw Public Library a member of the MetroShare Library Consortium. A consortium is a network of libraries that share a common catalog and allows for borrowing between libraries. Staff is proposing a change from our current consortium, NTLC, to MetroShare, which we believe will offer added benefits to our patrons and staff. Please see attached memo for full details.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
No financial impact to join MetroShare, although the move does necessitate changing our software system. (See additional agenda item.)
