Consideration and Action regarding Award of Bid for East Cement Creek Channel Reconstruction Phase 1 Project
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Bids for the East Cement Creek Channel Reconstruction Phase 1 Project were opened on August 30, 2022. Four bids were received. Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. (KHA) has reviewed the lowest bidder's qualifications and verified that the contractor's bonding company is licensed in the State of Texas. Based on their review, Humphrey & Morton Construction Company, Inc. is the lowest responsive bidder. The amount of their base bid is $1,076,136 with the additive alternate bid being $318,942 for a total bid of $1,395,078. A letter from KHA along with the bid tabulation sheet are included in the attachments for this item.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact will be $1,395,078. Funds in the amount of $1,500,000 are budgeted for this project in the Drainage Utility Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the bid and additive alternate bid be awarded to Humphrey & Morton Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,395,078. |
