SUBJECT:
Consideration and Action regarding Approval of a Playground Structure at the new Library Facility

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

This request is for consideration for the funding  for the construction of a playground structure behind the future Saginaw Public Library.  This playground will provide an area for kids to go outside and play.

 

Due to the increase in construction costs for the new Library, cuts had to be made that have resulted in a lack of funds for the cost of this playground. Funds for the estimated cost to construct the playground including the rubberized fall protection will come from the future Park Bond Fund.  The estimated cost is $125,000.  

 

This item is scheduled for consideration by the Advisory Recreation and Parks Board at their meeting on Monday, September 19th. 



FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated financial impact is $125,000.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval and will inform the Council of the recommendation from the Advisory Recreation and Parks Board.
