SUBJECT:
Upgrade to Police Department Records Management System and Computer Aided Dispatch
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
During the budgeting process the police department provided data to implement a new RMS/CAD system in partnership with Lake Worth PD. The Council approved the budget request for this upgrade. The Police department is ready to move forward with this upgrade and our Motorola Rep is ready to begin placing orders for equipment. This item is being brought before council in compliance with purchasing rules.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
$375,000 for RMS/CAD upgrade and $50,000 for transition costs between Saginaw and Lake Worth.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends city council approve the contract and authorize the City Manager to enter into a binding agreement with Motorola Solutions and the City of Lake Worth. |
