BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
In May of 2022, a Green Ribbon grant application was submitted to TXDOT for Saginaw Boulevard from Bailey Boswell Road to W.J. Boaz Road.
On September 22, 2022, the City was notified that our application was accepted. The amount of the grant is capped at $400,000 and is subject to execution of a maintenance agreement and Advance Funding Agreement that will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration at a future date.
The proposed Individual Project Order with Kimley-Horn includes coordination, survey, preparation of construction documents, reporting, bidding, and construction contract administration for a total amount of $60,000. All of the tasks will be paid on a lump sum basis except for Construction Contract Administration that will be based on an hourly rate estimated to total $4,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact will be $60,000. Funds for this expenditure are availabe in the Fund Balance of the General Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the IPO with Kimley-Horn for the 2021 Saginaw Boulevard Beautification Project (Green Ribbon Funding) Phase III.
