Consideration and Action regarding Annual Senior Citizens Non-Resident Membership Fee and Amendment to Master Fee Schedule (Ordinance No. 2023-01)

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

In October 2022, the City Council voted to approve an Annual Senior Citizens Non-Resident Membership Fee in the amount of $20 per year per non-resident senior citizen.  Several non-resident senior citizens have voiced their concerns regarding the fee and Mayor Pro-Tem Junkersfeld requested that the Council reconsider the fee.  

 

If the non-resident membership fee is removed or altered, the Master Fee Schedule will need to be amended.   Ordinance No.  2023-01 will address any changes to the Master Fee Schedule. 



FINANCIAL IMPACT:
If the non-resident fee is removed, based on the totals indicated on the number of non-resident senior citizens by zip code report, the estimated financial impact would be the loss of $5,520.
