PUBLIC HEARING - Consideration and Action regarding Proposal to Relocate the Surface Improvements made to Veteran's Memorial at Kiwanis Park to 333 West McLeroy Blvd. and to consider the Approval of a Non-Park Use of the Park Property as a Component of a Proposed Economic Development Project involving a Multi-Restaurant Concept and Entertainment Venue

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

This is a public hearing item.  A copy of the public hearing notice is attached.   It was published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on January 31st, February 7th, and February 14th.  The purpose of the public hearing is for input concerning the relocation of the Veterans Memorial and input concerning a non-park use of the park property as a component of a proposed economic development project involving a multi-restaurant concept and entertainment venue.  The park property is an approximate .25 acre parcel located on the southeast corner of the property where Fire Station #1 is currently located.  

 

On October 18, 2022, as recommended by the Advisory Recreation and Parks Board, the City Council voted to approve the relocation of the Veterans Memorial to the area directly behind City Hall.  

 



FINANCIAL IMPACT:
N/A   (The costs associated with the relocation were approved in October.)

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.
