Consideration and Action regarding Award of Bid for the Saginaw Kiwanis Veterans Memorial Relocation
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Bids for the Saginaw Kiwanis Veterans Memorial Relocation were opened on May 25, 2023. See attached letter and bid tabulation sheet from Laura Presley of Kimley-Horn & Associates. After review of the bids, Cole Construction, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive bidder. Their base bid is $207,443 with an alternate bid in the amount of $26,452 for a total bid of $233,895. The alternate bid includes replacement footers if needed for the monument signs. It's possible that this will not be needed but it can't be determined until we begin the relocation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact will be $233,895. Funds in the amount of $245,000 including $45,000 for the Kimley-Horn IPO were approved on October 18, 2022. The balance of $33,895 will come from unobligated Park Bond Funds.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of award of the bid to Cole Construction, Inc. as presented. |
