BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The 2018-19 Parks and Drainage Departments included budgeted funds in the amount of $20,000 each for the purchase of a new service truck. The Parks and Drainage Departments trucks will be a 2019 Chevrolet 1500. The Public Services Department truck will be a 2019 Chevrolet 2500.
The trucks were competitively bid. James Wood Motors was the only bidder that submitted a bid for all of the vehicles totaling $73,385.78 ($22,718.10 each for the ½ ton and $27,949.58 for the ¾ ton).
The total amount of the purchase is $73,385.78.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total financial impact will be $73,385.78. Funds in the amount of $20,000 are budgeted for replacement of the Parks Department truck (Parks Department, Account 01-7000-07-00, Capital Outlay/Special Request). Funds in the amount of $20,000 are budgeted for the replacement of the Drainage Department truck (Drainage Utility Fund, Account 14-7000-00-00, Capital Outlay Special Request).Funds in the amount of $35,000 are budgeted for the replacement of the Public Services Department truck (Public Services Fund, Account 01-7000-06-00, Capital Outlay Special Request).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of two Chevrolet 1500 pickup trucks for the Parks and Drainage Departments and one Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck for the Public Services Department from James Wood Motors in the amount of $73,385.78.
