BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The 2018-19 Budget included $25,000 for the purchase of a temporary building for use by Code Enforcement and Inspections staff at Public Works. Upon the discontinued use of the Depot building by the Chamber the decision was made to utilize the space by moving Code Enforcement and City Building Inspection to the location in lieu of the temporary building.
In order to provide connection to the City’s internal network and allow processing of credit card payments an optical ETHR Internet point to point connection is required.
Spectrum Enterprise provided a Service Order (Agreement) that provides for the installation of the required facilities for a one-time fee of $250.00 and a monthly fee of $475.00 for thirty-six (36) months. The facilities will provide a 50 MBPS optical ETHR Internet point to point connection
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total financial impact will be $17,350 over the life of the agreement. Funds will come from the IT budget under telephone expenses 01-6850-14-00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to execute an agreement with Spectrum Enterprise to Provide Internet Connection Services to the Depot.
