BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Staff would like to receive direction from the City Council related to planning and project prioritization for a proposed May 2020 bond election.
Some questions:
-Would the City Council like to appoint a specific Citizens Bond Committee or use public Town Hall-type meetings to solicit community feedback?
-Is the City Council interested in identifying projects to be funded within the existing tax rate (estimated $30 million in the next few years), or should a total that includes a tax rate increase be explored?
-How much in projects should be brought to voters in May 2020?
-How should we approach balancing project types-facilities, streets, parks, etc.?
