BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On July 9, 2019, The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of a request to rezone the subject property from Office Professional to Neighborhood Commercial. The City Council considered and continued the request on July 23, 2019. The City Council requested that the zoning request and pending Special Use Permit be considered together at its September 3, 2019 meeting.
The Skilled Nursing Facility use is considered as a Nursing Home under the City’s use table. Nursing Homes are allowed in the proposed Neighborhood Commercial district by Specific Use Permit.
The Planning and Zoning Commission met on August 13, 2019 and unanimously recommended approval of the Specific Use Permit for consideration by City Council.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Specific Use Permit allowing a Skilled Nursing Facility (Nursing Home) at The Northeast Corner Of West McLeroy Boulevard And North Knowles, A Portion Of Tract 4, Abstract 1859, A F Albright Survey, as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
