Consideration and Action regarding Adoption of an Ordinance amending the Zoning Regulations by establishing an Overlay District along Saginaw Boulevard generally described as: All properties zoned Office Professional, Neighborhood Commercial, and Community Commercial that have frontage and/or access (Either direct or through another property) to Saginaw Boulevard from East Industrial on the South, the Railroad on the East, and the Northern City Boundary; Which District includes Regulations/Restrictions governing Land Use and Development Standards; and Providing for Revisions to the Regulations governing Amortization/Discontinuation fo Legal Non-Conforming Use Status (Public Hearing for this Item was held on 12-18-2018. Item was tabled at that same meeting.)
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The proposed ordinance was presented to the City Council at a Workshop held on August 7, 2018. The Planning and Zoning Commission met and considered the ordinance at their meeting on December 11, 2018. The Commission voted 4-1 to recommend approval to the City Council with the addition of language to clarify the requirements for bring non-conforming uses into compliance. At the December 18, 2018 City Council Meeting, the City Council held the posted public hearing for this item and also voted to table action on the proposed ordinance.
