Action Regarding Award of Contract for the Police Parking Lot Expansion
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On October 15, 2019, City Council authorized an Individual Project Order with Kimley-Horn Associates, Inc. (KHA) for the Police Parking Lot Expansion. The project was bid on December 4, 2019 and subsequently rejected by Council on January 7, 2020 due to bids that were over budget.
The project was rebid and the following bids were received on January 29, 2020:

The low bid, Summit Paving, LLC had a calculation error in their bid that resulted in a total base bid of $65,155.00. Summit Paving has agreed to honor it's submitted base bid of $63,155.00. KHA has recommended the award of contract to Summit Paving, LLC.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total financial impact is $75,439.50 and will be funded from 2019 Tax Notes sold for property acquisition and capital projects.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council award the Police Parking Lot Expansion project to Summit Paving in the amount of $75,439.50. |
