This Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement with CFJ Manufacturing, L.P. for the property located at 716 S. Saginaw Blvd.  Per the proposed agreement, the City will provide the demolition of the former car wash facility for the purpose of redevelopment.  CFJ desires to construct a new building on the property and relocate its business to that property. The City desires to provide the incentives to assist CFJ by offsetting costs related to construction of the Project.

The City is authorized by Article 52-a of the Texas Constitution and Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code to establish programs to promote local economic development and to stimulate business and commercial activity in the City.  As discussed in the May 19, 2020 Executive Session, the City Council determined that establishing a program to bring Company’s business to the Property in accordance with this Agreement will further the objectives of the City, benefit the City and the City’s inhabitants, and promote economic development and stimulate business and commercial activity in the City.
