BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On May 19, 2020, the City Council authorized a contract with Nu-Way Construction, LLC for the McLeroy Boulevard Curb and Gutter Replacement project. Staff will be bringing an Inter-Local Agreement with Tarrant County to reconstruct E. McLeroy Boulevard between the new curb and gutter using street maintenance funds.
In addition to E. McLeroy staff will be programming pavement replacement on portions of Minton Avenue and E. Industrial Avenue. The proposed contract will provide an evaluation of the subgrade and provide recommendations on subgrade treatment and pavement design guidelines. The information obtained will be used to prepare the specifications and pavement details for the work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Financial Impact is $21,500. Funds are available in the Street Maintenance Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve an agreement with CMJ Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $21,500 for Geotechnical Engineering Services for Summer 2020 Street Improvements.
