SUBJECT:
Consideration and Action regarding Agreement for Construction Manager At Risk services for the new central fire station with Steele and Freeman, Inc.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The City issued a Request For Qualifications for CMAR services for the new central fire station and received Statements of Qualifications from seven firms.  The review committee evaluated the submittals and shortlisted three firms for further consideration. A Request For Proposals was issued to those three firms who submitted priced  proposals for review.  The committee evaluated the submittals and interviewed each firm after which the committee ranked the firms according to the criteria outlined in the RFP.  Steele and Freeman, Inc. was ranked number one.  We have negotiated what we believe to be a fair fee schedule for the project and the City Attorney has reviewed and approved the contract documents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
See fee schedule in Section 5.1.1 of AIA Document A133-2009.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Standard Form of Agreement AIA Document A133-2009 and the General Conditions of the Contract For Construction AIA Document A201-2017
