BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
On November 17, 2020, City Council authorized an Inter-Local Agreement with Tarrant County Precinct 4 for the reconstruction of the existing parking lot serving Willow Creek Station Park and construction of a new parking lot north of the park.
Since its opening Willow Creek Station has been heavily utilized by the public. The improvement of the existing parking lot will serve to alleviate inadequate parking capacity and reduce overflow parking occurring in adjacent neighborhoods and on Knowles Drive.
The new parking lot will be approximately 210'x110' and will provide approximately 78 parking spots.
On December 7, 2020, staff brought a recommendation before the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board requesting funding for the new parking lot in the amount of $28,577.00. The cost of the reconstructed parking lot will come from maintenance funds.
The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board unanimously approved the request for consideration and action by City Council.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total Financial Impact will be $28,577.00. Funds are available in the Park Fund.
