BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
City staff has received many inquiries about lack of illumination at Willow Creek Station. Staff solicited and received a proposal from JEC Energy Solutions for LED light poles and fixtures. JEC Energy Solutions is a member of BuyBoard allowing the City to receive a direct proposal rather than competitively bidding for the installation.
The proposed installation will be for five (5) lights spaced around the perimeter of the playground at a cost of approximately $5,400.00 each totaling $27,000.00. The installation does not require electrical service and will be cost effective solution over time.
On December 7, 2020, staff brought a recommendation before the Park Advisory Board requesting funding for the new LED light poles and fixtures $27,000.00.
The Parks Advisory Board unanimously approved the request for consideration and action by City Council.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total Financial Impact will be $27,000.00. Funds are available in the Park Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Council authorize funding in the amount of $27,000.00 for five (5) LED light poles and fixtures for Willow Creek Station.
