SUBJECT:
PUBLIC HEARING–Consideration and Action regarding a Recommendation from the Planning and Commission regarding an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2002-04, as amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Saginaw, Texas, by changing the zoning classification on 4.5844 acres of land, Lot 1, Block 1, McNeil Addition, also known as 700 West McLeroy Boulevard from Neighborhood Commercial (NC) to Community Facilities (CF); revising the official zoning map in accordance therewith; and by amending the comprehensive land use plan relating to said property by changing the land use from Neighborhood Commercial (NC) to Community Facilities (CF) (Ordinance No. 2021-06)--Rick Trice, P.E., Director of Public Works
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
The City is currently developing plans for Fire Station Number 1 and Fire Administration project located at 700 W. McLeroy Boulevard (Lot 1, Block 1, McNeil Addition). The requested change in zoning is for Community Facilities (CF) to be consistent with the proposed use.
Owner: City of Saginaw
Existing Zoning: Neighborhood Commercial (NC)
Ultimate Land Use Plan: Neighborhood Commercial (NC)
Proposed Zoning: Community Facilities (CF)
The property is bounded by Amber Drive on the east, W. McLeroy Blvd. on the south, undeveloped property zoned Neighborhood Commercial on the west and developed Single Family (SF4) on the north.
The Planning and Zoning Commission considered the request at it's February 9, 2021 meeting and unanimously recommended approval.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the Change in Zoning on Approximately 4.5844 Acres on Lot 1, Block 1, McNeil Addition, City of Saginaw, Tarrant County, Texas and Revise the Official Zoning Map and Comprehensive Land Use Plan in accordance as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. |
